Lust and fornication are veritable
tools the enemy uses to turn most children of God into tormented slaves.
Interestingly, the enemy comes through a door before it can perform its
disastrous business. Common doors the enemy may use include devoted watching of
movies particularly those movies that expose men or women’s nakedness,
pornography, listening to oral sex words, visiting an opposite sex alone,
prying at or touching an opposite sex with a wrong motive and many others.
Further
still, the enemy could creep in through other things you love more than God. All
bible quotations in this article are from New Living Translation (NLT) The Easton
Bible Dictionary defined Lust as a sinful longing; it is also the inward
sin that leads to the falling away from God. "Lust, has its place in the
heart, because it is the centre of all moral forces, impulses, and of spiritual
activity." The heart is therefore
the origin of sin.
Lusts are described as objects of desire. Similarly, lusts have been further highlighted as
detrimental to the Christian life. In Romans 1:21.the bible states, "Yes,
they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks.
And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was
that their minds became dark and confused". "But all too quickly the
message is crowded out by the cares of this life, the lure of wealth, and the
desire for nice things, so no crop is produced" (Mark 4:19).
Dear brethren,
do you know, you can lust after money, latest fashion, latest car, things in
vogue, beauty and so on? Anything that has become a strong object of
desire more than the things of God in your heart is lust. You will notice such
desires take a very strong part of your emotion. Lust and fornication are two
of a kind; they walk hand in hand; which usually starts in the heart.
Run away from sexual Sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as
this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body (1st
Corinthians 6:18). Daniel
made up his mind to please God ... "But Daniel made up his mind not to
defile himself….." (Daniel 1:8). Job purposed in his heart to have a
clean mind in Job 31:1 "I made a
covenant with my eyes not to look with lust upon a young woman."
Job did not want to disobey God. Most probably, Job fully understood the
dangers of lust and that it often leads to further sexual sins. Job had no doubt
seen and heard of the consequences of venereal disease in other victims,
because they didn't have the blessing of modern medicines back then.
Job also must
have fully realized that God intended for sex to be far more than just a
momentary pleasurable experience; but rather, a lifetime commitment. This
is what any responsible person should be thinking of. The problem today
is that many people hardly border to think properly. It is painful to
learn that they don't realize, or don't care, about the consequences of sexual
sins.
There are consequences with God, and oftentimes to your own
body.
1) To prostitute
one's body to the lust of another.
2) To give one's self to unlawful sexual intercourse.
3) Metaphor--to be given to idolatry, to worship idols.

3) Metaphor--to be given to idolatry, to worship idols.
Fornication can also be described as carnal union
between an unmarried man and an unmarried woman and is a grave sin. If lustful
looks are adulterous, how much worse is lustful physical contact?
1st Corinthians
10:8 (And we must not engage in sexual immorality as some of them did, causing
23,000 of them to die in one day). "God hates fornication! Fornication and
idolatry go hand-in-hand! The sins of fornication and adultery are used
by God in the Bible to represent idolatry ... "You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with this world make
you an enemy of God? I say it again, that if your aim is to enjoy this world,
you can’t be a friend of God." (James 4:4).
Most people are
cheating on God, giving to the Devil what rightfully belongs to God. God is a
jealous God. You must never worship or bow down to them, for I, the Lord your
God, am a jealous God who will not share your affection with any other god!
(Exodus 20:5). To live for the world is spiritual adultery in God's eyes.
As the people of the world walk further and further away from God, fornication
is increasing. Apostasy leads to idolatry, and idolatry goes hand-in-hand
with every sin imaginable--especially sexual sins.
