Family Dynamics as Key to Family Harmony

The ways family members relate to one another is known as family dynamics. It is the way in which a family lives and interacts with one another that creates the dynamic. And the dynamic, whether good or bad, changes who people are, it digs deep into their psyche, ultimately influencing how they perceive and interact with the world outside of their family.

Every member of a family participates in different experiences that are capable of change; this is to say that the dynamics within a family does not remain static. Family dynamics should not be seen only in the context of what makes a family dysfunctional but also what makes the family bonded.

Families are much more than groups of individuals; they have their own goals and aspirations. Healthy family dynamics enable family members to feel loved and safe. In a healthy family dynamics, members are:

  • Encouraged to pursue their own dreams and aspirations,
  • Inspired to show kindness, cooperate with one another, and imbibe good manners,
  • Young children get started off on a good note,
  • Youths are helped to become responsible and independent adults
  • Family strength is further stabilized,
  • Everyone's individuality and uniqueness is allowed to grow and flourish,
  • Every member of the family is made to feel unique and should be treated as such,
  • Set consistent limits for young children and sticking to the limits, and
  • Tutored about family relationships both traditional and non-traditional.
  • Family relationships are very crucial to a satisfying life.
  • Learning healthy ways of relating with one another starts at home and prepares the stage for nurturing relationships in the future.
